I’m a fact-checker for Vanity Fair and Harper’s Magazine, and a reporter previously published in Politico, CityLab, and The San Diego Union Tribune.

I trained in fact-checking as a Harper’s editorial intern where I fact-checked the Harper’s Index and tracked down documents for the Readings Section. Prior to that, I worked as a production assistant for Michigan Radio’s Stateside daily news show and an Editorial Page Editor for The Michigan Daily.

At the University of Michigan’s New England Literature Program— a six-week literature-intensive backpacking program— I teach Transcendentalist authors and narrative journal writing. I was once a student in this program and see this work as the founding inspiration for much of why I write.

When I’m not writing, I practice yoga, draw the ineffable sparks I feel when practicing, and jump in large bodies of water.
